Dear Parents,

We have had a wonderful half term and so there is lots to share and celebrate in our end of term letter.

In March, children from Y4 to Y6 took part in the annual, worldwide Times Tables competition held by TT Rock Stars. Once again, our students have excelled and we achieved our best ever results. 

Out of 435 primary and secondary schools worldwide, we proudly ranked: 1st in Andalucia and in Spain, 2nd in Europe, 2nd in the world for primary school totals and 4th in the world for average scores.
Our Year 4 to Year 6 students showcased their skills by answering an incredible 810,497 times tables questions, scoring 5,589 points! Out of nearly 2,000 primary school classes, all our classes finished in the top 50 globally, with 2 of them in the top 5!

Special congratulations to 7 of our students (Oliver, Michael, Roberto, Sasha, William, Leo and Anton) for all finishing in the top 50 out of 26,000 primary school students! Oliver and Michael, who are currently primary school students, even finished 28th and 49th respectively out of 56,000 primary AND secondary students.

This term we have also experienced great success on the football field. I had the wonderful opportunity to accompany 27 Year 5 and Year 6 children, with three other staff members, to Verona for the Med Cup football tournament.  The weather was not kind to us and the children played in the pouring rain and on muddy fields. However, this did not deter our footballers in the slightest and, once again, we achieved the best ever results, in any age category, since we first entered the tournament over 7 years ago. 

After an incredible few days of grit, determination, and resilience, the Boys A team came 4th in the Elite group, an incredible 4th out of 27 teams. The Boys B team won on penalties, with 3 great saves by our goalkeeper, to come 1st in the Europa Bronze. 
This year was the first time we took an U11 girls team. We had eight players, just enough for a full team - meaning we had no option of substitutes for any of the matches. Every girl played every minute of every match and were undefeated until they heartbreakingly lost on penalties in the final. They came 2nd out of 17 teams. 

A huge congratulations to Norah, who won the top goal scorer and Dina, who won the best player of the tournament. 
We are so proud of each and every child who took part.

The Arts have also been well represented with poems, paintings and short stories being published in the recent SUR in English competition. Congratulations to Theia ( EYL), Jayna (Y4S), Elsie Y4C and Radu (Y5J).

Every child also performed their memorised poems in both English and Spanish this week. The children were excellent, even the very youngest of our children recited their poems clearly and confidently. We had a wonderful array of poems with messages of friendship, kindness and saving our planet to poems about babies and ninja cats! 

Today has been a fun filled day in primary celebrating Easter and the end of term. 
Despite the weather, the children took part in Easter egg hunts, Spring themed crafts and Easter challenges. 
Earlier in the week during our Final Assembly, children from KS1 and KS2 who had achieved the most house points this term received books and book tokens. Children from Foundation Stage with a special mention also received colourful story books. 

As always, choosing children to receive the Headteachers Award was difficult due to the number of worthy candidates.

However, this term the following deserving children received their trophies:

Key Stage One: Aaron Y2J
Key Stage Two: Leonardo Y3J

I hope you all enjoy the Easter break and I look forward to seeing everybody on Monday 21st April in summer uniform.

Estimados Padres:

Hemos tenido un maravilloso trimestre y por lo tanto hay mucho que compartir y celebrar en nuestra carta.

En marzo, los alumnos de Year 4 a Year 6 participaron en el concurso anual de tablas de multiplicar organizado por TT Rock Stars.

Una vez más, nuestros alumnos han sobresalido y hemos obtenido los mejores resultados de nuestra historia. 
De entre 435 colegios de Primaria y Secundaria de todo el mundo, nos enorgullecemos de haber obtenido el primer puesto: 1º en Andalucía y en España, 2º en Europa, 2º en el mundo por totales de Primaria y 4º en el mundo por puntuaciones medias.
Nuestros alumnos de Year 4 a Year 6 demostraron sus habilidades respondiendo a la increíble cifra de 810.497 preguntas de las tablas de multiplicar, ¡y consiguiendo 5.589 puntos! De entre casi 2.000 clases de Primaria, todas nuestras clases terminaron entre las 50 primeras del mundo, ¡y 2 de ellas entre las 5 primeras!

Felicitamos especialmente a 7 de nuestros alumnos (Oliver, Michael, Roberto, Sasha, William, Leo y Anton) por haber quedado entre los 50 primeros de un total de 26.000 alumnos de Primaria. Oliver y Michael, que actualmente son estudiantes de Primaria, incluso terminaron en los puestos 28 y 49 respectivamente de entre 56.000 estudiantes de Primaria y Secundaria.

Este trimestre también hemos cosechado grandes éxitos en el campo de fútbol. Tuve la maravillosa oportunidad de acompañar a 27 niños de Year 5 y Year 6, junto con otros tres miembros del personal, a Verona para asistir al torneo de fútbol Med Cup.  El tiempo no nos acompañó y los niños jugaron bajo una lluvia torrencial y en campos embarrados. Sin embargo, esto no desanimó a nuestros futbolistas en lo más mínimo y, una vez más, logramos los mejores resultados de todos los tiempos, en cualquier categoría de edad, desde que participamos por primera vez en el torneo hace más de 7 años. 

Tras unos días increíbles de garra, determinación y resistencia, el equipo masculino A quedó 4º en el grupo Élite, un increíble 4º puesto entre 27 equipos. El equipo masculino B ganó en la tanda de penaltis, con 3 grandes paradas de nuestro portero, para quedar primero en la Europa Bronze. 
Este año ha sido la primera vez que hemos llevado un equipo femenino sub11. Teníamos ocho jugadoras, lo justo para un equipo completo, lo que significaba que no teníamos opción de suplentes para ninguno de los partidos. Todas las chicas jugaron cada minuto de cada partido y estuvieron invictas hasta que perdieron en la tanda de penaltis de la final. Quedaron segundas de 17 equipos. 

Enhorabuena a Norah, máxima goleadora, y a Dina, mejor jugadora del torneo. Estamos muy orgullosos de todos y cada uno de los niños que participaron.

Las artes también han estado bien representadas con poemas, pinturas y relatos cortos publicados en el reciente concurso SUR in English. Enhorabuena a Theia (EYL), Jayna (Y4S), Elsie Y4C y Radu (Y5J).

Esta semana, todos los alumnos han interpretado sus poemas de memoria en inglés y en español. Los niños estuvieron excelentes, incluso los más pequeños recitaron sus poemas con claridad y seguridad. ¡Tuvimos una maravillosa variedad de poemas, desde mensajes de amistad, bondad y salvar nuestro planeta hasta los poemas sobre los bebés y los gatos ninja! 

Hoy ha sido un día lleno de diversión en Primaria para celebrar la Pascua y el final del trimestre. 
A pesar del mal tiempo, los niños han participado en búsquedas de huevos de Pascua, manualidades primaverales y retos de Pascua. 

A principios de semana, durante nuestra Asamblea Final, los niños de KS1 y KS2 que habían logrado más puntos de la casa este trimestre recibieron libros y bonos para libros. Los niños de Foundation Stage con una mención especial también recibieron coloridos libros de cuentos. 

Como siempre, elegir a los niños que recibirían el Headteachers Award fue difícil debido al número de buenos candidatos.

Sin embargo, este trimestre los siguientes niños recibieron sus trofeos:

Key Stage Two: Leonardo Y3J

Espero que disfruten de las vacaciones de Pascua y espero verles a todos el lunes 21 de abril con el uniforme de verano.
