Dear Parents,

It has been another magical and fun-filled end of term during which children have enjoyed learning and making memories that they will take into adulthood. 

The Christmas Fayre was a wonderful event and it was lovely to see the whole school community celebrating together. Music, food and fun games were enjoyed by our community of students, parents, teachers and guests. The marquee, Father Christmas and the snow machine gave it a lovely yuletide feeling and a mixture of choirs, solo performances and bands ensured that we all felt ready for the festive period. Thank you once again for supporting this event with generous donations of raffle prizes, bottles, sweets and your participation. 

Our school choir performed for elderly residents in a local care home, Mr James hosted another action packed Christmaths, and we all enjoyed the delicious Christmas lunch prepared by the kitchen. We have enjoyed making Christmas cards and gifts to take home, our Christmas parties, our end of term assembly and the Christmas Performances by Early Years Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2.

A special mention must also go to our Y5 students who treated us earlier this month to an outstanding performance of Home Alone. The children and teachers worked hard to perfect the singing, acting and dancing and once again the show was worthy of a place in the West End! It set the tone for Christmas at Swans, about spending time with loved ones and being thankful for what we have. 

The children have enjoyed the extra activities offered this term and in particular we enjoyed reading our Swans Newspaper from our newly introduced Spanish extra activity. 
Children have enjoyed reading the publication, as have parents as they have picked one up along with a mince pie at our Christmas events. 

The Headteacher’s Award was given out in our final assembly too and there were a variety of nominations from different classes. The decision, as always, was very difficult.
However, the three children below deserve a special mention for their caring attitude, resilience, academic effort and positivity.

As we begin our Christmas break, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful holiday with family and friends. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank you for the presents that myself, teachers, office and maintenance staff have received.

We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year. 

Please note: The school will be closed from 23rd December until the Spring Term begins on the 8th January. The office will be open from the week commencing Tuesday 2nd January.

Estimados Padres: 

Ha sido otro final de trimestre mágico y lleno de diversión en el que los niños han disfrutado aprendiendo y creando recuerdos que conservarán hasta la edad adulta. 

La Feria de Navidad fue un evento maravilloso y fue encantador ver a toda la comunidad escolar celebrando juntos. Nuestra comunidad de alumnos, padres, profesores e invitados disfrutaron de música, comida y juegos divertidos. La carpa, Papá Noel y la máquina de nieve le dieron un toque navideño encantador y una mezcla de coros, actuaciones de solistas y bandas se aseguraron de que todos nos sintiéramos preparados para la época festiva. Gracias una vez más por apoyar este evento con generosas donaciones de premios para las rifas, botellas, dulces y su participación. 

El coro del colegio actuó para los ancianos de una residencia de la zona, Mr. James organizó otra jornada navideña de Christmaths llena de acción y todos disfrutamos de la deliciosa comida de Navidad preparada por la cocina. Hemos disfrutado haciendo tarjetas de Navidad y regalos para llevar a casa, nuestras fiestas de Navidad, nuestra asamblea de fin de trimestre y las actuaciones de Navidad de Foundation Stage, KS1 y KS2.

Una mención especial merecen nuestros alumnos de Y5 que nos deleitaron a principios de este mes con una actuación excepcional de Solo en casa. Los niños y los profesores trabajaron duro para perfeccionar las canciones, la actuación y el baile y, una vez más, el espectáculo fue digno del West End. Marcó el mensaje de la Navidad en Swans, pasar tiempo con los seres queridos y estar agradecidos por lo que tenemos. 

Los niños han disfrutado de las actividades extraescolares ofrecidas este trimestre y, en particular, hemos disfrutado de la lectura de nuestro Periódico de Swans, realizado por nuestra recién introducida actividad extraescolar en español. Los niños han disfrutado de la lectura de la publicación, al igual que los padres, ya que han podido coger un ejemplar junto con un dulce en nuestros eventos navideños. 

El Premio de la Directora se entregó también en nuestra asamblea final y hubo una gran variedad de nominaciones de diferentes clases. La decisión, como siempre, fue muy difícil.
Sin embargo, los tres niños a continuación merecen una mención especial por su actitud amable, trabajo duro, esfuerzo académico y positividad.

Al comenzar nuestras vacaciones de Navidad, me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para desearles a todos unas maravillosas vacaciones con la familia y amigos. También me gustaría aprovechar la oportunidad para darles las gracias por los regalos que tanto yo como los profesores y el personal de oficina y mantenimiento hemos recibido.

Esperamos verles a todos el año que viene. 

Nota: El colegio permanecerá cerrado desde el 23 de diciembre hasta el comienzo del segundo trimestre el 8 de enero. La oficina estará abierta a partir del martes 2 de enero.
