Dear Parents,

We have arrived at the end of another wonderful academic year and have spent many special moments over the past week celebrating our children's talents.

The Summer Gala showcased some of our children’s creative talents, with performances from our extra activity dance troupe, the school choir, KS2 singers and our winner of Swans’ Got Talent 2023!

We were also treated to performances from our talented secondary bands. 

It was an amazing evening with a positive atmosphere, delicious food and wonderful company.  

Thank you all who came to celebrate with us. 

Congratulations and celebrations were the theme of our end of year assembly as we reflected on the year we had all experienced and what we had learned about ourselves and our community. Many trophies were awarded along with certificates and prizes for those children who demonstrate the qualities we look for in our Swans children such as perseverance, resilience, academic and sporting achievements as well as achievements in the field of creative arts. We celebrated children who are kind and thoughtful, children who are respectful and considerate.

Headteacher Awards

The final Headteacher Awards of this academic year were awarded to:

Foundation Stage -  Adam EYM and Alvaro RK

KS1 - Levon Y1J  and Lev Y2H

KS2 - Samir Y3J and Milana Y4C

All children chosen from this term have excelled in different areas and we are very proud of them.

A special mention must also go to Miss Hayley’s class as every child in this class has joined the Kindness Crew. This means that every child over the course of the year has been nominated for a certificate for being kind. Well done Miss Hayley’s class!

During the assembly we also wished our current Year 5 students well, as they move on to take their place in the secondary building from September. Year 5 have been excellent prefects and role models for the younger children and I know they will represent Primary well in the secondary building. We will miss you but we know you are ready for your new adventures.

The final KS1 and KS2 end of year performances were, as always, outstanding. The children sang with such energy and enthusiasm and talented teachers ensured that children remained motivated. It is always a joy to see the connection between the children on the stage and their family and teachers in the audience. The sense of pride and love is palpable. 
 

At this time of year, we know that students and parents are looking forward to the well-deserved summer break, free from the academic pressures of school and its daily routine.  I am sure that you will appreciate, however, that being away from school for over two months may have a detrimental impact upon students’ core skills. With this in mind, we recommend keeping some focus on their English, Spanish and Mathematics skills throughout the summer.  Our experience has shown us that those students that do this cope much better upon their return to school in September. A separate email letter was sent earlier this week giving details of the different activities and a list of recommended reads.

The teaching, office and maintenance teams at Swans, as always, have been outstanding. The warmth, security and family atmosphere that the children experience is down to each individual giving the very best of themselves, consistently. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of staff at Swans. You are amazing!

Many thanks to all Swans’ parents too. The support you give to your children with their homework and reading is reflected in their progress. Your support and positive approach throughout the year is evident at special events, parents meetings and daily at drop-off and home time. There is always such a happy ‘buzz’ in the playground.

The final thank you must go to the children who have worked hard, been kind to one another and who are an absolute joy to be around.

Estimados Padres:

Hemos llegado al final de otro curso académico fantástico y hemos pasado muchos momentos especiales durante esta última semana celebrando el talento de nuestros niños. 

Nuestra Gala de Verano mostró algunos de los talentos creativos de nuestros niños, con actuaciones de nuestro grupo de la actividad extraescolar de baile, el coro del colegio, cantantantes de KS2 y nuestra ganadora del concurso de “Swans’ Got Talent 2023”

También tuvimos la suerte de disfrutar de las actuaciones de las talentosas bandas de nuestro colegio de Secundaria. 

Fue una tarde maravillosa con una atmósfera positiva, comida deliciosa y compañía estupenda. Muchas gracias a todos los que vinieron a celebrar con nosotros. 

Las felicitaciones y celebraciones han sido la temática de nuestra asamblea de final de curso en la que hemos reflexionado sobre el año que hemos experimentado y lo que hemos aprendido sobre nosotros y nuestra comunidad. Se han entregado muchos trofeos junto con diplomas y premios para aquellos niños que han mostrado las cualidades que buscamos en nuestros niños de Swans como son la perseverancia, resiliencia, logros académicos y deportivos así como logros en el ámbito del arte creativo. Hemos celebrado a los niños que son buenos, considerados y respetuosos.

Todos los niños elegidos de este trimestre han destacado en diferentes áreas y estamos muy orgullosos de ellos.  

Queremos dar una mención especial a la clase de Miss Hayley ya que todos los niños de esta clase se han unido a nuestro Equipo de Bondad. Esto significa que cada niño/a a lo largo de todo el año ha sido nominado para obtener un certificado por ser bondadosos. ¡Bien hecho clase de Miss Hayley!

Durante la asamblea, también deseamos buena suerte a nuestros niños de Year 5, ya que estarán en el colegio de Secundaria desde septiembre. Los alumnos de Year 5 han sido unos prefectos excelentes y unos modelos a seguir para los niños más jóvenes y sé que representarán bien a Primaria en el colegio de Secundaria. Os echaremos de menos pero sabemos que estáis preparados para vuestras nuevas aventuras. 

 

Las actuaciones de final de curso de KS1 y KS2 fueron, como siempre, maravillosas. Los niños cantaron con mucha energía y entusiasmo y los talentosos profesores se aseguraron de que los niños se mantuvieran motivados. Siempre es un placer ver la conexión entre los niños en el escenario, sus familias y profesores entre el público. El sentimiento de orgullo y amor es palpable. 

 

A estas alturas del año, sabemos que los alumnos y padres están deseando que lleguen las muy merecidas vacaciones de verano, libres de las presiones académicas del colegio y su rutina diaria. Estoy segura de que apreciarán, sin embargo, que estar fuera del colegio durante más de dos meses puede tener un impacto perjudicial en las destrezas principales de los estudiantes. Teniendo esto en cuenta, recomendamos que mantengan algo de atención en sus destrezas de inglés, español y matemáticas durante el verano. En nuestra experiencia, los estudiantes que hacen esto afrontan mejor la vuelta al colegio en septiembre. Un email se mandó por separado con anterioridad esta semana dándoles detalles sobre las diferentes actividades y una lista de lectura recomendada. 

 

El equipo de profesores, oficina y mantenimiento en Swans, como siempre, ha sido excelente. La calidez, seguridad y atmósfera familiar que los niños experimentan se debe a que cada uno da lo mejor de sí mismo, de manera consistente. Me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para dar las gracias a todos y cada uno de los miembros del personal en Swans. ¡Sois increíbles! 

 

Muchas gracias a todos los padres de Swans también. El apoyo que habéis dado a vuestros niños con sus deberes y su lectura se refleja en su progreso. Vuestro apoyo y enfoque positivo durante el curso se hace evidente en los eventos especiales, reuniones de padres y a diario a la entrada y salida del colegio. Siempre hay un ambiente positivo en el patio.

 

Por último, queremos dar las gracias a los niños, que han trabajado duro, han sido buenos con los demás y es un placer tenerlos cerca.
