On October 3rd our Year13 International Baccalaureate students hosted a RIFCOM collection day, where we asked for donations of old pairs of football or sports shoes and/or refillable water bottles. We are so pleased with the overwhelming response! In exchange of these generous donations, our students enjoyed a “sports” themed non-uniform day.
Special thanks to Lloyd Edwards and Christine Dekker for all of their efforts in the run-up. Their awareness campaign and regular reminders made a huge difference to the amount of items collected – and therefore, to the lives of the children in the Moroccan village.
Tomorrow, the collected items will be taken by a team of sixth form students to Morocco for our school’s annual charity trip. The shoes will be put to immediate good use with an organised football match. We look forward to hearing all of the news from the village and sharing lots of photos soon!
RIFcom is a charity that is always close to our hearts and is represented by the Swans house team, the Kestrels.
