Swans International School took Bronze at The World Schools Football Cup in Barcelona last week. Our Under 13 Boys' bold performance in this tournament nearly took them all the way but their progress was halted in the semi-final by eventual winners, Ovingham Middle School (England).
The boys performed well and behaved impeccably throughout the entire tournament with teams travelling from all over the world to compete. Anri Minasov's ability was also recognized by the referee's who voted him as the Player of the Tournament!
At the end of the first day Swans were in second position in their group with one game remaining before the knock-out stages began but Ovingham proved to be just that little bit too strong leaving Swans the Third Place Play-off left to play for. Swans made no mistake this time with Anri Minasov's goal securing the bronze medal position in a 1-0 victory against Beths Grammar School B.
The visit was a fantastic physical and team-building experience for our young team who range in age from 10 to 12 years.
We're excited to see the progress that is bound to come as they continue to train hard and work together for success!
