Random Acts of Kindness Week

We had great fun celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week –  a worldwide opportunity to unite people through good deeds, running from February 16th until February 23rd. Both Swans primary and secondary schools enjoyed a jam-packed week of activities, including:

  • Thought-provoking assemblies

  • A food collection for charity, Ser Humano

  • The Kindness Challenge: to complete 15 kind acts in 15 days

  • Inspirational videos during tutor time

  • A “Guess Who” game of compliments

  • The Kindness Jar

  • “You’re a Star” and “Kind Heart” stickers awarded by teachers to students

  • Kindness Certificates

Swans Secondary School now also features a Tree of Kindness in the main ground floor hallway. Students add post-it notes to this tree with their reasons why they love Swans. Contributions so far have included:

  • I love Swans because the teachers are really supportive

  • I love Swans because everyone is kind

  • I love Swans because I have the best friends

The Random Acts of Kindness Week is just one of the events included in our “It’s Cool to be Kind” initiative for the 2019/2020 academic year. As a family-orientated school, Swans greatly appreciates the need for a social and emotionally-supportive learning environment, and we always encourage a positive and caring ethos amongst our community of students.
