KEY DATES

February 2022 is a busy month at Swans School! Therefore, we have put together the following list of activities to help you to stay informed and organised.

Whilst Children's Mental Health Week officially runs from February 7th until 13th, the theme of "Growing Together" shapes many of our activities throughout the whole month. We will be making that extra effort to encourage team-building, social responsibility and kindness.

We will also be launching a special campaign to find the kindest member of our community.In Swans Primary School the children will award certificates to their peers for acts of kindness. In Swans Secondary School students will be asked to nominate peers or staff members who have been particularly supportive, helpful or friendly. The top 50 kindest students will be rewarded for their good deeds with a super fun "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" next term.

Feb 1st	Chinese New Year	Reception	Fun activities to generate awareness.
Feb 2nd	Bike Day	Early Years	All Early Years children to bring bikes or scooters.
Feb 4th	World Cancer Day	Year 6 - 13	Buy a ribbon for 50c and wear it with pride. All donations go to CUDECA's new young person facility.
Feb 7th - 13th	Children's Mental Health Week. "Growing Together"	Primary School	Assembly and workshops. Daily inspirational quotes, and physical exercise.
		Year 6 - Year 9	"Drop-Down" morning workshops with yoga, crafts and guest speakers.
Feb 8th	Safer Internet Day "Together for a Safer Internet"	Primary School (inc. Year 6)	Focus on online relationships. Assembly, fun awareness activities in class and a Kahoot to finish the day. Workshops within the ICT lessons.
		Year 7 - 13	Class activities that will run through the whole week to equip students with the skills needed to keep themselves and others safe online.
Feb 13th - 16th	Ski Trip *pre-registered students only	Year 5 - 6	Skiing or snowboarding, tobogganing, building snow forts, and lots more winter fun.
Feb 14th	Valentine's Day	Primary School	Arts and crafts and friendship fun.
	Valentine's Day	Year 6 - 9	Our Sixth Form students are organising the sale of "candy bags" to raise money for the charity Collective Calling.
Feb 16th - 20th	Ski Trip *pre-registered students only	Year 7 - 10	Skiing or snowboarding, tobogganing, building snow forts, and lots more winter fun.
Feb 17th	Random Acts of Kindness Day	Primary School	Class kindness activities and internet safety reminders. A kindness collection board and kindness certificates awarded by children to their peers.
		Year 6 - 13	Students to vote for the kindest member of the Swans community. Mad Hatter's Tea Party reward for the winners in the Summer term.
Feb 25th	Carnival	Primary School	Early Years - Year 5 dress-up theme: wear something silly, bright and fun
		Year 6 - 13	Year 6 - 13 dress-up theme: Dogs. Students not dressing up should wear their standard school uniform.
Feb 25th	Hot Dogs for Cold Dogs	Year 6 - 13	Bring a blanket or 2€ in exchange for a hotdog. All contributions donated to Triple A.
Feb 28th	Spanish writing competition deadline: Concurso nacional de cuentos	Year 6 - 13	All participating students to submit their entry to their Spanish language teacher before this date (max. 3000 words)
