Student Council

Opportunities to grow, and to take responsibility.

We have both a primary school and a secondary school Student Council. These students are elected in recognition of their communication, team working and leadership skills. In summary, all of our Student Council members are unwaveringly positive and proactive members of the school community.

The Student Council works together to identify the key issues that really mean something to them and the student body they represent. They then initiate an action plan, which is implemented with approval from the Swans School senior management.

Student Council projects in recent years have included the creation of a Mindfulness Garden, the introduction of an “international food day” to the school menu, a program of extracurricular clubs during lockdown, a second hand swap shop, and a fundraising karaoke stall at the Christmas Fair.

This process gives our Student Council members a certain level of control and responsibility, plus an insight into the world of work. It is also a fantastic achievement to share on future university and job applications.
