YEAR 3

SWANS PRIMARY SCHOOL MARBELLA

Year 3 is the beginning of Key Stage Two. We are working towards greater independence of thought and actions.
The children are expected to have greater respect towards others, respect towards themselves and responsibility for their own actions and their work.
The children emerge during the year as young adults, motivated and excited that they have been successful in all areas of school life.
Throughout Year 3 we try, where we can, to bring the outside world into the classroom and emphasize the necessity of caring for the world in which we live.
 

Year 3 love to visit other classes and share their work. In one activity they were inspired by the colourful and witty caricatures of Hanoch Piven. His method teaches children to create their own works of art with common everyday objects. This was an easy and fun way to create collages out of unwanted items found at home.  Children then visited both Reception classes and shared their interesting “junk” artwork.

The first IPC topic of the year is called Saving the World where we study the Tropical Rainforests around the world. The children visit the Botanical Gardens in Málaga to introduce the topic.
