The Duke of Edinburgh International Award is a challenging programme of activities for young people which encourages personal discovery, self-reliance and responsibility through four areas: Service, Skills, Physical Recreation and an Adventurous Journey. At Swans International School we offer our Year 10 students the opportunity to complete the Bronze Award and from September 2015 our Year 12 Students will have the opportunity to complete the Gold Award.
The International Award is a prestigious achievement recognised by Universities around the world. It complements the CAS activities of the IB Diploma Programme which students complete in Years 12 and 13 and develops skills which will be valuable in later life, an awareness of others and an appreciation of their environment.
For their Adventurous Journey students complete two arduous two day treks in the Ronda and Tarifa regions.
