I am very pleased to welcome you to the website of Swans International Sierra Blanca, the Secondary section of Swans International!
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Sierra Blanca, with breath-taking views over the Mediterranean to the South and La Concha mountain to the North, the school is housed in modern purpose-built facilities. We currently boast four fully-equipped Science laboratories, three state-of-the-art ICT suites, a well-stocked library,a purpose-built theatre and an indoor ozone swimming pool complex, as well as a gymnasium and plentiful outdoor sport facilities.
We offer a comprehensive secondary curriculum: students in Years 7 to 11 follow a programme of study which broadly follows the UK National Curriculum, culminating with public IGCSE exams sat at the end of Year 11. Alongside this, Spanish nationals and those with native Spanish language also follow the Spanish curriculum (EP and ESO). Students in the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13) have the opportunity to follow the Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate.
At Swans Secondary School, we employ 37 full time teachers and 4 part time teachers, all of whom have a relevant degree in their specialised subject, as well as a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), which allows them to teach in a Secondary school.
In addition to this, we have a fully qualified, British Army trained nurse, who renews her qualification, every two years, in the UK.
Swans also employs two highly qualified ICT technicians who have in-depth industry experience.
Our school counsellor brings with him a wealth of knowledge surrounding child behaviour and conflict resolution. Trained in the UK, he holds the most current qualifications in his field.
Our school psychologist brings with her the very latest methods to this increasingly important field. Swans pays a great deal of attention to this area and her input is invaluable in a wide array of issues. Karima studied at Swans and this gives her an excellent understanding of, not only the school, but the issues that students experience growing up in and around Marbella.
Our website provides an overview of the school and what we offer to our students, but written words and photographs can only tell you so much. I would like to extend an invitation to you to visit the school and to experience at first hand what makes Swans what it is. I very much look forward to welcoming you to our school.
