Swans Secondary School Curriculum

 

Swans strives to deliver a broad and relevant international curriculum which enables our students to reach their full potential and provides the perfect preparation for university and beyond.

Students attend 30 lessons per week, each of 55 minutes in length.

Subjects studied offer a perfect balance between linguistic, mathematical, scientific and artisitic disciplines, allowing each student to explore the path of their choice. A summary of the subjects offered is found below.

Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9)
Spanish first language students English, Lengua, Sociales, Mathematics, Science, ICT, French or Mandarin Chinese, Humanities, Art, Music , Drama and PE.
Spanish second language students English, Spanish, Mathematics, Science, ICT, French or Mandarin Chinese, History, Geography, Art, Music , Drama and PE.

 

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) – GCSE

 Spanish first language students Lengua y literature Español, Mathematics, English language, two Science subjects (from Biology, Chemistry and Physics), ICT, (A choice of 2)Business or Economics, French, History, Geography, Psychology, Art, Music, PE, Media Studies, Drama or one additional Science subject.

Key Stage 5 (Sixth form – Years 12 and 13) – International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
Spanish first language students IB diploma programme (a combination of 6 subjects covering each discipline, as well as Theory of Knowledge, CAS and the Extended Essay.)Selectividad (opcional)
